When you go bankrupt in a sit and go, you are not allowed to buy back in like in a cash game. After losing all of your chips, you must sign up for a new sit and go before being able to play again. In a sit and go, the prize pool is distributed near the end of a tournament, rather than money being dispersed after every single hand.

It is best to only play strong hands in the first few rounds of a tournament, as blind sizes will be low in comparison to average chip stack size. A player that survives in a tournament for a longer period of time has an increased chance of cashing. Instead of risking your entire stack early, it is better to play it safe and try to cash by winning smaller pots.

Other players will begin pushing in their stacks as the blinds increase. While in solid late position (dealer or cut off), it is encouraged to try and steal blinds as you will have a better chance the blinds will fold. If everyone has folded to you in the small blind, it is safe to go in with nearly any two cards if it is worth it to steal the blinds.

It is recommended to raise and steal several pots in order to cash in first. When in doubt, be selective with your hands early on, and more liberal with the hands you play in later stages.

As blinds go up and players get eliminated, you will notice rather quickly that cash game strategy differs from Sit and Go Poker strategy. Play several different tournaments to improve.

Finally, the best sng strategy and one that is simple: simply play at two, if not more tables at a go. Sitting at a single table can be very uninteresting and this will result in losing your concentration and that in turn can lead to making bad decisions.
